Pricing
How pricing works
Every house and every system is different, so this page names what moves the number. Your written quote carries the amounts.
What moves the price
The same things decide the number from one house to the next.
Which part failed, and what the refrigerant is
The age of the system and the cost of matching parts
Where the equipment sits: closet, attic or side yard
For a replacement: tonnage from the load calculation, and the efficiency tier
Duct condition, drain line and electrical
The county permit, and haul-away of the old unit
What the quote lists, and what it doesn't
The scope line by line, each piece of equipment by model, the permit, haul-away, the terms of any warranty and how long the quote holds.
Not included unless listed: duct replacement, a panel upgrade, repairs to the house
Anything we find outside the scope, we show you and quote separately before work
What happens at the visit
We ask what the system has been doing, look at it, measure what we can and explain what we find.
Temperature drop and airflow measured
Coil, drain and electrical looked at
A photo of what we find, when it helps
Nights and storm calls
After-hours visits carry a higher visit fee. We say the amount on the phone before anyone drives out.
The on-call tech calls you back
Work after hours as crew capacity allows
When you get the number
In writing, after we have seen the system. We do not give a repair or replacement price over the phone.
Repair or replace
How we think about an older system
No system gets replaced because of a number on a sticker.

Questions
About the quote
What does a visit cost?
We tell you the visit fee when you book, and whether it comes off the repair if you go ahead. The repair itself is quoted in writing before we start. The How pricing works page explains what moves the number.
Is it worth fixing an older system, or should I replace it?
It depends on the repair, the age and how it has been running. We tell you what the repair costs and what it is likely to buy you, and put both in writing. Some visits end with a repair and a tip to wait a year; we would rather tell you that than sell you a system you do not need.
How do you size a replacement?
We measure the rooms, look at the windows, insulation and ducts, and work out the load for your house, not for a house like yours. Bigger is not better here: an oversized unit leaves the air damp.
Do you offer financing?
Ask us. If we do, the quote lists the lender, the term, the APR and a note that it is with approved credit. Nothing is decided over the phone.
Can you pull the permit for a replacement?
Yes. When the job needs a permit, we pull it and the quote says so. The county inspector may need to see the work before the job is closed out.
