What we fix

Cooling, and only cooling

Six jobs fill our trucks. Anything outside the cooling side of your system, we will tell you who to call.

  • AC repair

Not cooling, freezing up, short-cycling or dripping indoors. We find the cause and quote it in writing before we fix it.

  • Tune-ups

Coil, drain, fan, filter and electrical checked before the heat is at its worst.

  • Replacement

Sized from a load calculation of your house, with the scope in writing and the permit pulled.

  • Cold but clammy

The air is cool, the house is damp. We look for why before anyone suggests a dehumidifier.

  • Drains and leaks

The condensate line that backs up, the pan that fills, the stain on the ceiling.

  • Thermostats and controls

A thermostat that lies, a board that has been through a lightning strike.

After the storm

The lights are back. Hold off on the thermostat.

Surges and flooded condensers are the usual storm damage. Five minutes of waiting and a few checks keep a small problem small.

The five-minute restart

  • Look at the outdoor unit first. Standing water, a fallen limb or a bent cabinet means leave it off and call.

  • Set the thermostat to Off.

  • If the breaker tripped, reset it once. If it trips again, stop.

  • Wait until the power has held, then wait five more minutes.

  • Turn it on and listen. Humming, buzzing or a burning smell means off again.

Then and now

The window unit, then a quiet wall unit

Many Pasco County homes still cool a bedroom, a Florida room or a garage workshop with a window unit. A small ductless unit does the same job without the window.

What a service call sounds like afterward

“The power came back at nine at night and I almost flipped the switch. Their page said to wait. I waited, and it started fine.”

Velma R.Land O' Lakes

“The tech showed me the drain line was packed with slime, then showed me again after he cleared it. The quote said what it was before he touched anything.”

Casimiro A.Odessa

“My bedroom window unit was older than my son. They put a quiet unit on the wall and I have my window back.”

Questions

Quick answers

How long should I wait before I turn the AC back on after a power cut?

Set the thermostat to Off, wait until the power has stayed on, then wait at least five more minutes before you turn it back on. The wait lets the pressures in the system settle. It protects the compressor, which is the part that costs the most.

Why does the house feel cool but sticky?

An air conditioner that is too big for the house cools the air fast and shuts off before it has pulled much moisture out. A weak fan, a dirty coil or a drain that is backing up can do the same. We look at all of them before we suggest a dehumidifier.

What does a visit cost?

We tell you the visit fee when you book, and whether it comes off the repair if you go ahead. The repair itself is quoted in writing before we start. The How pricing works page explains what moves the number.

Do you work on furnaces or heat strips?

No. We work on cooling only: air conditioners and the air handlers, thermostats and drains that go with them. If your heat needs work, we will say so and suggest you call a heating company.

What if the AC quits at night or on a Sunday?

Call the shop number. After hours, the on-call tech calls you back and tells you the wait and the after-hours visit fee before anyone drives out. After hours we work as crew capacity allows.
